The historic city of Toronto is structured parallel to the shore of Lake Ontario. The contemporary city continuously reaches vertically from the lake. Convergent Inscriptions connects these stories on the Canada Malting site. Bathurst Street is submerged to double the green expanse of Norway Park and allows a continuous waterfront promenade. A wide north-south promenade visually extends Bathurst to the lake. The grand silos, re-programmed for rotating installations, solidly frame this view, while the introduction of a transparent and light museum building creates a focal terminus. Convergent Inscriptions gathers the site and the neighbourhood, providing a local hub for community involvement while inviting the global community to visit and add to Toronto’s story.
