Vaudeville to Urban Village is a proposition to transform Mirvish Village. It recognizes and highlights the significant artifacts and colourful history of the area to build an infrastructure of coherence to the BIA. Beyond the bright lights on the corner of Bloor and Bathurst, the Mirvishes and others have quietly converted Markham Street into a thriving literary and artistic enclave with a complement of lively cafes, bars and restaurants. This street is redesigned as a highly pedestrian space, while continuing to accept parking and loading.  Another compelling spatial feature is the parking and service area behind the Honest Ed's Store, which is re-imagined as an urban market and event space, with a pedestrian allee to promote connectivity through the entire BIA.
